Sidemount diving gives you flexibility and streamlining options. Plus, you don't have to walk around with heavy cylinders on your back - just enter the water, clip on, and go!

Course Outline | 3 components | 2 days

  1. Knowledge Development (Online Study): understand the principles of sidemount diving
  2. Ocean Dives: master setup over 3 ocean dives

Topics/Skills

  • Properly assemble and configure sidemount scuba equipment
  • Trim your weight system and sidemount gear for balance in the water
  • Manage gas by switching second stages as planned, if wearing 2 cylinders
  • Respond correctly to potential problems when sidemount diving

Prerequisites 

  • PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent qualification from another training agency
  • Minimum age of 15 years
  • Your own sidemount diving equipment - we will help you configure effectively

Every PADI Specialty certification you earn gets you one step closer to becoming a Master Scuba Diver. This elite rating is achieved by only 2% of divers.

Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving.

Please review the Diver Medical Form before enrolling in a scuba course. If you answer 'Yes' to any of the questions, you must see a doctor and present a dive medical/clearance to dive before we can accept you onto the course.
