Midweek Open Water Course | Hobart 

Designed for complete beginners, Tas Divers' highly trained instructors will teach you how to scuba dive in a relaxed, safe and supportive environment. By the end of the course you'll have the skills and knowledge to dive at home or anywhere in the world — and be an ambassador for our ocean!

Course Outline | 3 Components | 2 Consecutive Days 

1. Digital Learning (Online Study): understand the basic principles of scuba diving at your own pace

2. Pool Training: learn and practice the skills to become a safe and confident scuba diver

3. Ocean Dives: 4 ocean dives over 2 days — apply your new skills, explore and have fun!

1. Digital Learning

Complete all your dive theory at your own pace and in a timeframe that suits you. The SSI online training platform (via app or browser) lets you study wherever and whenever you like. Work through videos, quizzes and training materials before your in-water sessions.

2. Pool Training 

This is where you'll take your first breaths underwater! A heated pool where you can stand up is a comfortable and supportive environment to learn and practice the skills you need to become a confident, safe scuba diver. 

3. Ocean Dives 

Complete 4 local shore dives. Apply everything you've learned in the ocean and discover a whole new world beneath the waves!

Training Prerequisites

• Water fitness evaluation*
• Minimum age | 10 years old

For the safety and comfort of our younger divers, courses with students under 15 years of age are limited to a maximum of 4 participants.
