Keep safe and be prepared! The Rescue Diver course is a challenging and rewarding step in your diving journey, designed to make you a more confident and capable diver. You will learn how to recognise and prevent problems before they occur, manage diving emergencies, and assist other divers in distress - both on the surface and underwater.

Course Outline | 3 components | 2 days

  1. Knowledge Development (Online Study): understand and recognise diver emergencies and learn about different rescue techniques
  2. Pool Training: practice rescue exercises and scenarios in confined water
  3. Ocean Dives: practice your new skills and all emergency scenarios in the ocean

  • Recognising and managing stress in other divers
  • Emergency management and equipment
  • Rescuing panicked divers
  • Rescuing unresponsive divers
  • Search & recovery of missing divers and objects

Prerequisites 

  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification or equivalent qualification from another training agency
  • Minimum age of 12 years. Student divers between 12-14yo earn the PADI Junior Rescue Diver certification
  • Current First Aid and CPR qualification (contact us for more details if you require this)

Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving.

Please review the Diver Medical Form before enrolling in a scuba course. If you answer 'Yes' to any of the questions, you must see a doctor and present a dive medical/clearance to dive before we can accept you onto the course.
