You and your group will have the sole attention of your instructor and full calendar control (subject to availability). Private bookings also allow for greater scheduling flexibility — consecutive days, time constraints, location variations and more. Designed for complete beginners, Tas Divers' highly trained instructors will teach you how to scuba dive in a relaxed, safe and supportive environment. By the end of the course you'll have the skills and knowledge to dive at home or anywhere in the world — and be an ambassador for our ocean!

Course Outline | 3 Components | 3 Days

  1. Digital Learning (Online Study): understand the basic principles of scuba diving at your own pace

  2. Pool Training: learn and practice the skills to become a safe and confident scuba diver

  3. Ocean Dives: 4 ocean dives over 2 days — apply your new skills, explore and have fun!

1. Digital Learning

Complete all your dive theory at your own pace and in a timeframe that suits you. The SSI online training platform (via app or browser) lets you study wherever and whenever you like. Work through videos, quizzes and training materials before your in-water sessions.

2. Pool Training

This is where you'll take your first breaths underwater! A heated pool where you can stand up is a comfortable and supportive environment to learn and practice the skills you need to become a confident, safe scuba diver. Choose your preferred pool training location — Launceston or Hobart.

3. Ocean Dives

Spend the weekend at Bicheno and complete 4 dives on Tasmania's beautiful east coast. Apply everything you've learned in the ocean and discover a whole new world beneath the waves!

Medical Requirements

Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving.

Please review the Diver Medical Form before enrolling in a scuba course. If you answer 'Yes' to any of the questions, you must see a doctor and present a dive medical/clearance to dive before we can accept you onto the course.
