LEARN TO DIVE IN TASMANIA

PADI Open Water Diver is the first scuba certification level. TAS Divers highly-trained PADI Instructors will teach you how to scuba dive in a relaxed, safe, supportive learning environment. By the end of the course, you'll have the skills and knowledge to dive at home or anywhere in the world, and be an ambassador for our ocean!

Course Outline - 3 Components | 3 days (over 2 weekends)

  1. Knowledge Development (Online Study): Understanding the basic principles
  2. Pool Session: Learn the skills to be a safe and competent scuba diver in the pool
  3. Open Water Dives: 4 ocean dives over 2 days - practice your new skills, explore and have FUN!

1. Knowledge Development

Complete all your dive theory at your own pace and in a time frame that suits you. PADI's eLearning platform (via app or browser) allows you to study wherever you like, whenever you like. Work through the videos, quizzes and learning content before your practical sessions. Non-digital options are also available for those who prefer to study old school.

2. Pool Session

This is where you'll take your first breaths underwater! Diving in the pool is a safe and comfortable environment, where you will learn and practice the skills you need to be a confident and safe scuba diver. Please choose which location to attend your pool session (Launceston or Hobart).

3. Ocean Dives

Spend the weekend at Bicheno and complete 4 dives on Tasmania's beautiful east coast. You will apply everything you've learnt in the ocean, and discover a whole new world!

Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving.

Please review the Diver Medical Form before enrolling in a scuba course. If you answer 'Yes' to any of the questions, you must see a doctor and present a dive medical/clearance to dive before we can accept you onto the course.
