3Although you've been diving at a site many times before, at night you drop into a whole new world and watch it come to life under the glow of your dive light. The scene changes as day creatures retire and nocturnal organisms emerge. If you've wondered what happens underwater after the sun goes down, sign up for the PADI Night Diver Specialty course. 

Course Outline | 2 components | 3 nights

  1. Knowledge Development (Online Study): complete PADI eLearning at your own pace
  2. Ocean Dives: 3 ocean dives, run over 3 nights (not always consecutive)

  • Procedures, techniques & problem-solving
  • Buoyancy control in the dark
  • Night navigation
  • Communicating with your torch
  • Entries & exits, ascents & descents
  • Using dive lights correctly & efficiently
  • Nocturnal underwater animals & their environment

Prerequisites 

  • PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent qualification from another training agency
  • Minimum age of 12 years

  • Specialised night diving equipment (we recommend to have your own)
  • 3 x night dives
  • Mask & snorkel
  • Transport - you will need to be able to transport your scuba gear (including tanks) for the duration of the course
  • Medical statement (if required)

 

We have torches available for use, however we highly recommend purchasing your own torch (and a smaller back-up torch) for the course and after certification. 

Every PADI Specialty certification you earn gets you one step closer to becoming a Master Scuba Diver. This elite rating is achieved by only 2% of divers.

Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving.

Please review the Diver Medical Form before enrolling in a scuba course. If you answer 'Yes' to any of the questions, you must see a doctor and present a dive medical/clearance to dive before we can accept you onto the course.
