A missing o-ring, a torn wetsuit, a broken fin strap — minor equipment issues shouldn't end your dive day. The SSI Equipment Techniques specialty program teaches you how to identify, troubleshoot and fix common equipment problems in the field, so you're always prepared and never caught out.

  1. Digital Learning (Online Study): understand the principles of scuba equipment, maintenance and troubleshooting at your own pace
  2. Practical Session: one-on-one time with your Tas Divers instructor — hands on with real equipment

Prerequisites

  • SSI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent from a recognised training agency
  • Minimum age | 10 years old

Medical Requirements

Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving.

Please review the Diver Medical Form before enrolling in a scuba course. If you answer 'Yes' to any of the questions, you must see a doctor and present a dive medical/clearance to dive before we can accept you onto the course.
