About the event
Safety is of utmost priority when it comes to diving. One of the safety accessories you should always carry is a surface marker buoy (SMB). Some might ask themselves, what is an (D)SMB and how do I use it? Also you should have learned the basics about it in your OW Course lots of you probably never or rarely used it afterwards.
We will have a briefing to cover the different types of SMBs, how to set it up and how to handle it safely before we hit the water.
Certification: PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent. All Welcome!
Location: Blackmans Bay beach - North end where the blowhole is (We will decide on the day if we dive on the South or North end - weather depending).
Time: Meet at 10.30am.
After the dive: There is a possibility to warm up and go for lunch at one of Blackmans Bay's/Kingston Beach restaurants if interested.
Scuba Gear: BYO. Please bring your own DSMB (SMB & reel)! If you don't have one yet, don't wait any longer and get this important signaling equipment now (available in store).
Basic equipment hire is available from Tasmanian Divers during business hours.
