It's one of the most practical and satisfying specialties you can add to your diving — and on the day someone needs it, you'll be glad you did it.

Someone drops something overboard. A piece of equipment is lost on a dive. Most divers shrug and move on — Search & Recovery Divers go and find it. The SSI Search & Recovery Diver specialty program teaches you systematic underwater search techniques, navigation skills and how to safely recover objects of all sizes from the seafloor.

Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving.

Please review the Diver Medical Form before enrolling in a scuba course. If you answer 'Yes' to any of the questions, you must see a doctor and present a dive medical/clearance to dive before we can accept you onto the course.
