LEARN TO DIVE IN TASMANIA — SMALL CLASS SIZES

Start your underwater adventure with the Open Water Diver course—the world's most popular entry-level scuba certification. Designed for complete beginners, TAS Divers highly-trained instructors will teach you how to scuba dive in a relaxed, safe, supportive learning environment. By the end of the course, you'll have the skills and knowledge to dive at home or anywhere in the world, and be an ambassador for our ocean!

Course Outline | 3 Components | 3 days (over 2 weekends)

  1. Digital Learning (Online Training): Understanding the basic principles
  2. Pool Training: Learn the skills to be a safe and competent scuba diver in the pool
  3. Open Water Dives: 4 ocean dives over 2 days - practice your new skills, explore and have FUN!

1. Digital Learning

Complete all your dive theory at your own pace and in a time frame that suits you.  The online training platform (via app or browser) allows you to study wherever you like, whenever you like. Work through the videos, quizzes and training materials before your in-water sessions. Non-digital options are also available for those who prefer to study old school.

2. Pool Training

This is where you'll take your first breaths underwater! Diving in a heated pool where you can stand-up, is a nice and comfortable environment; and this where you will learn and practice the skills you need to be a confident and safe scuba diver. Please choose which location to attend your pool training (Launceston or Hobart).

3. Ocean Dives

Spend the weekend at Bicheno and complete 4 dives on Tasmania's beautiful east coast. You will apply everything you've learnt in the ocean, and discover a whole new world!

We have recently updated our policies & procedures to better suit everyone. At Tas Divers, we believe in small class sizes and utilise 4:1 instructor ratios. That means four students for one instructor. Contact us for further information. Please carefully review all conditions before booking.

Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving.

Please review the Diver Medical Form before enrolling in a scuba course. If you answer 'Yes' to any of the questions, you must see a doctor and present a dive medical/clearance to dive before we can accept you onto the course.
