If you're new to boat diving or want to learn more about diving from different types of boats, enroll in the PADI Boat Diver course. During two dives with an instructor, you'll learn nautical terminology, boat diving etiquette and may practice using lines and deploying a surface marker buoy (SMB).

Course Outline | 2 components | 1 day

  1. Knowledge Development (Online Study): complete PADI eLearning at your own pace
  2. Ocean Dives: 2 boat dives, run over 1 day

Topics/Skills

  • Pack for a boat trip
  • Safe entries and exits
  • Properly stow gear & deck procedures
  • Boating safety/emergency equipment (lifejackets, radios, oxygen kits etc)
  • Dive planning
  • Different boats used and their advantages
  • Descents and ascents 

Prerequisites 

  • PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent qualification from another training agency
  • Minimum age of 10 years

We do have SMB & reels for you to use during the course, however we highly recommend you purchase your own so we can best teach you how to use your equipment for future diving.

Every PADI Specialty certification you earn gets you one step closer to becoming a Master Scuba Diver. This elite rating is achieved by only 2% of divers.

Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving.

Please review the Diver Medical Form before enrolling in a scuba course. If you answer 'Yes' to any of the questions, you must see a doctor and present a dive medical/clearance to dive before we can accept you onto the course.
