Become a PADI Equipment Specialist

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

This course is intended to familiarize divers with the operation and maintenance of equipment. It is not an equipment repair course. Training relative to the repairing and overhauling of equipment, except for very minor servicing, is not to be part of the curriculum. To participate in an Equipment Specialist course, the following is be included:

 

1. The theory, principles, and operation of diving equipment

2. Routine, recommended care and maintenance procedures, and equipment storage

3. Common problems with equipment and recommended professional maintenance procedures (May include a demonstration of repair procedures.)

4. Simple suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations and an introduction to new equipment (Optional trying of new or unfamiliar equipment in confined water may be included.)

Specialty Training

PADI EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST

Learn to manage basic scuba diving equipment repairs and adjustments. Understand routine care and maintenance procedures and how dive gear works.

Don't miss a dive due to minor issues with your scuba diving equipment. Whether it's a missing o-ring, wetsuit tear or a broken fin strap, the PADI Equipment Specialist course teaches you to manage basic repairs and adjustments. You'll also learn more about how your gear works, making you more comfortable with it and better prepared to take care of your investment.

If you're at least 10 years old and certified as a PADI (Junior) Scuba Diver or higher, you can enroll in the Equipment Specialist course.
